El actor Michael Douglas y la actriz e intérprete galesa Catherine Zeta-Jones llevan meses haciendo vidas separadas, pero ninguno ha presentado por ahora una demanda de divorcio, informó este miércoles la edición digital de la revista People.
Según la publicación, la pareja no ha sido fotografiada junta desde el pasado 22 de abril, y en este tiempo han desfilado por alfombras rojas cada uno por su lado y han pasado sus vacaciones por separado.
Recientemente, el actor se relajó unos días en un yate por la costa de Cerdeña, mientras que Jones se quedó en su casa de Nueva York.
En la portada de su nuevo número, People cuenta con los testimonios de dos fuentes próximas a la pareja donde aseguran que Douglas y Jones han decidido tomarse un tiempo para sopesar el futuro de su matrimonio.
"Se están dando un respiro", afirmó una fuente.
De acuerdo con las fuentes, ninguno de ellos ha presentado una demanda de divorcio ni iniciado los trámites hacia una separación legal.
Douglas y Jones se casaron en 2000 en el hotel Manhattan Plaza y han pasado numerosos contratiempos en los últimos años, desde la lucha contra el cáncer de Douglas en 2010 hasta los problemas de desorden bipolar de la intérprete galesa.

Douglas, de 68 años, y Zeta-Jones, de 43, tienen dos hijos en común: Dylan, de 13 años, y Carys, de 10. La decisión la tomaron poco después de que el actor regresara del festival de Cine de Cannes, en mayo. Por entonces Jones había completado una segunda ronda de tratamiento para tratar su desorden bipolar.
