El veterano cantante británico Mick Jagger, líder de los Rolling Stones, no escribirá su autobiografía porque considera que escarbar en su pasado es "aburrido" y "deprimente".
El músico inglés reveló en una entrevista con la revista "Q Magazine" en su edición de julio, que no tiene intención de escribir ese libro, pese a que se lo han vuelto a pedir "recientemente".
En cambio, sí lo hizo, y con gran éxito comercial, su compañero de grupo Keith Richards, que en 2010 publicó sus memorias en un libro llamado "Life" (Vida), en el que dedica comentarios poco favorecedores hacia Jagger, a quien conoce desde la infancia.
Pese a su rotunda negativa a seguir los pasos del guitarrista del grupo, Jagger recordó que anteriormente, en 1983, ya trató de escribir una autobiografía por la que supuestamente le dieron un adelanto de un millón de libras (1,16 millones de euros o 1,5 de dólares).
"Lo hice por dinero en los 80 o a principios de los 90. Lo empecé a escribir pero era deprimente y aburrido tener que rascar en tu pasado", admitió el músico, a punto de cumplir los 70 años.
Jagger explicó que tampoco le agradó entonces tener que contar cosas íntimas de personas allegadas: "Querían que hablara de todas estas personas cercanas a mí y que divulgara todos estos secretos. Me di cuenta de que no quería hacerlo. Así que lo dejé y devolví el dinero".
También su exesposa, la modelo norteamericana Jerry Hall, recibió una oferta similar para escribir su autobiografía y, al igual que Mick Jagger, devolvió el adelanto tras reconsiderar la propuesta.
Los Rolling Stones forman parte del cartel del popular festival británico de Glastonbury, que se celebrará en junio, y tocarán también el próximo mes en dos conciertos en Hyde Park, en Londres.
